Collaborative Design Group provided architectural, interior design, and engineering services for the new 5 bay fire station to house 18 firefighters from Fire Stations 1 and 10. The 58,000 sf facility is also the location of the Fire Department Headquarters and administrative offices. The hose tower roof was design with rappelling anchors for training and the Station includes a basement area vault connected to a second floor mezzanine by concrete culverts to simulate confined space training for the team.

The Headquarters portion of the building includes a 9,000 sf Green Roof that is used by firefighters and Fire Department Administration for events. The facility is located on a Brownfield site at the northeast corner of Randolph Avenue and West Seventh Street and includes a parking garage for 50 cars. The building has received LEED Silver Certification, and while no alternative energy sources were utilized, the project was design to be ‘solar ready’ with provisions for future solar panel arrays.
